Over the years, the wind and rain have paved the way for these formations, giving them a variety of silhouettes, which could also be from the magma of the nearby Qarwarasu and Sotaya volcanoes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Location:<\/em><\/strong> Pampachiri is off the beaten-beaten track, it is located in the Andahuaylas Province in Southern Peru and is one of the poorest parts of the country. About 1000 people live in Pampachiri with only 3000 in the Pampachiri district. The main language is Quechua but you could just get by with Spanish.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Elevation:<\/em><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intisuntrek.com\/2-days-tour-to-the-stone-forest-smurfs-houses-and-ampay-sanctuary\/\"> The small village of the Smurfs<\/a><\/em><\/strong> is in the middle of the Andes at an altitude of 3,400m (11,154 feet) \/ 3,700m (12,139 feet).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Some travel tips<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Bring good boots or walking shoes, walk as flat as you can to prevent slipping. Walking sticks are quite helpful. Also bring plenty of suncream, the sun can be pretty unforgiving and there isn\u2019t too much shelter at the rock forest.You should bring warm clothes if you do this.<\/p>\n<p>Do you like this place?
