However, we still recommend that you be well prepared, healthy, and at a moderate level of fitness prior to starting the trek. To prepare, try walking 10km a day or start going to the gym a month before the trek. Also try to spend a few days in Cusco adjusting to the high altitude before you start the Inca Trail.
